The Musée Guimet holds one of the foremost collections of Asian art outside Asia, gathered by the industrialist Émile Guimet from the 1870s. Galleries are arranged by region, from the Khmer sculpture of Cambodia to the arts of China, Japan, India, and the Himalayas. The collection spans some five thousand years.
