Rome
The Baths of Diocletian were the largest of all imperial Roman baths, completed around AD 306 to serve the northern districts of the city. Part of the ruins was converted by Michelangelo into the basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, and another houses the epigraphic collection of the Museo Nazionale Romano. A great cloister attributed to Michelangelo encloses ancient sculpture.
