Vienna
The MAK, Vienna's Museum of Applied Arts, was founded in 1863 to raise the standard of design and craft, and its collection spans furniture, glass, textiles, and metalwork. It holds the working drawings for Gustav Klimt's Stoclet Frieze and an unrivalled record of the Wiener Werkstätte. Contemporary designers are invited to reinstall the permanent galleries.
