Chicago
The Field Museum of Natural History grew out of objects gathered for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and now holds tens of millions of specimens and artifacts. Its central hall is dominated by SUE, the largest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex yet found, while halls of Egyptian tombs, Pacific cultures, and gems extend in every direction. The 1921 building anchors the city's lakefront Museum Campus.
