Chicago
The Adler Planetarium, opened in 1930 on the Museum Campus, was the first planetarium built in the Western Hemisphere. Three theaters present sky shows beneath domes, and galleries display historic telescopes, sundials, and navigational instruments. The lakefront site offers one of the best skyline views of downtown Chicago.
