The Musée Marmottan Monet, in a former hunting lodge near the Bois de Boulogne, holds the world's largest collection of works by Claude Monet. Among them is Impression, Sunrise, the 1872 painting that gave Impressionism its name. The museum also holds works by Berthe Morisot and a collection of medieval illuminations.
