Vienna
The Kunsthistorisches Museum holds the art collections of the Habsburgs in a domed palace facing its twin on Maria-Theresien-Platz. Its picture gallery contains the world's largest group of paintings by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, alongside Vermeer, Velázquez, and Caravaggio. The Kunstkammer displays imperial curiosities including Cellini's gold Saliera, and an Egyptian and Near Eastern collection fills the ground floor.
