Washington
Ford's Theatre is the working playhouse where President Abraham Lincoln was shot on April 14, 1865, restored to its appearance that night with the draped presidential box preserved. A museum below the theatre interprets the assassination and its aftermath. The Petersen House across the street, where Lincoln died, is part of the site.
