Venice
The Natural History Museum occupies the Fondaco dei Turchi, a Veneto-Byzantine palace on the Grand Canal that once housed Turkish merchants. Its halls hold the skeleton of an Ouranosaurus and fossils from expeditions to the Sahara, alongside displays on the ecology of the lagoon. A cabinet of curiosities and an aquarium round out the collection.
