Los Angeles
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County holds tens of millions of specimens across its galleries and research collections, the largest such institution in the western United States. The Dinosaur Hall displays a growth series of three Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons, and dioramas of African and North American mammals fill the historic 1913 building. Outdoor nature gardens wrap the museum in Exposition Park.
