The National Building Museum occupies a vast nineteenth-century brick hall built for the federal Pension Bureau, its Great Hall ringed by some of the tallest interior Corinthian columns in the world. Exhibitions cover architecture, engineering, and urban design. The hall has hosted presidential inaugural balls since the 1880s.
