Chicago
The Richard H. Driehaus Museum occupies the restored Nickerson Mansion, an 1883 marble house among the most lavish of Gilded Age Chicago. Period rooms display decorative arts, stained glass, and furnishings of the era, including works by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The house survived the decline of its neighborhood to become a museum of nineteenth-century design.
