The Frick Collection occupies Henry Clay Frick's Gilded Age mansion on the Upper East Side, where Old Master paintings hang in domestic rooms rather than conventional galleries. Works by Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Bellini sit among period furniture and porcelain, much as their collector arranged them. A 2025 renovation opened the family's second-floor private quarters to the public for the first time.
