Palais Garnier

The Palais Garnier, the opera house Charles Garnier completed in 1875, is among the most opulent theatres in the world. The grand staircase, the gilded Grand Foyer, and the auditorium with its ceiling painted by Marc Chagall are open to visitors. A small library-museum traces the history of the Paris Opera.
