The Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea holds Italy's national collection of nineteenth- and twentieth-century art in a Belle Époque palace near the Villa Borghese. Italian movements from the Macchiaioli to Futurism sit beside works by Van Gogh, Klimt, and Cézanne. The galleries were rehung in recent years to mix periods and themes.
