The Mémorial de la Shoah, in the Marais, is France's principal Holocaust memorial and museum, built around a crypt and a Wall of Names inscribed with those deported from France. Its permanent exhibition documents the persecution of Jews in France and Europe. A research centre and archive adjoin the galleries.
