The Japanese American National Museum, in the Little Tokyo district, documents the experience of Americans of Japanese ancestry from early immigration through the wartime incarceration and after. Its core exhibition draws on personal objects, photographs, and a reconstructed barracks from a relocation camp. The museum occupies a historic Buddhist temple building alongside a newer pavilion.
