The Villa Farnesina, a Renaissance pleasure villa across the Tiber in Trastevere, was built for the banker Agostino Chigi. Its loggias are frescoed by Raphael and his workshop, including the Triumph of Galatea and the Loggia of Cupid and Psyche. Other rooms hold work by Peruzzi and Sodoma.
